My University Life
My teachers in high school always said to us that one will get a colorful university life when one goes to the university in order to encourage us to do our best on the college entrance exam. In addition, I often heard people said that one may play in the fourth college life. Perhaps they both said right. But it doesn’t seem to have fun without any stress in the fourth college life. In the university, it has a strict rule of flunks which college students that if one get flunks for absent more than three classes at a course; one will say good-bye to one’s university. In my university life, it is composed of studying, and getting fun after school.
There are two things regarding my university life which I want to discuss about. At first, I always read many books. When I was a freshman, I had so much homework and reports to write about. And many courses were so difficult and different from high school. In the beginning of my university life, I even regretted choosing this subject as my major. Because it was much difficult than I imagined. But, I found my interest in English when I went to the Western Literature classes. I loved it because I liked to listen to our teacher’s telling very interesting stories such as bible stories, and mythology. Studying literature and searching some literary terms from the Internet, and creating a literature blog after school became an important focus in my university life. I have also conquered my problems in other classes such as Linguistics. After freshman year, I did well at many courses.
Also, I have more leisure time to do the following things after school. For example, I often chat with my friends on MSN messenger. I also begin to eat night snacks with my roommates or friends and become a big fan of this habit now. I also attend many afterschool activities, such as celebrating my friend’s birthday, singing songs all and night long with my friends or classmates in the Holidays or KTV, decorating our classroom make it become colorful, playing in an amusement park. I also attend our department，s student association activities such as drama contest, ball contest, dumpling making and barbecue, etc. I also attend my class activities such as, class reunion, and class travel with my classmates.
In my university life, I become a big fan of reading more books such as novels, and short stories because I found my interests in English Literature. Also I often borrow many books from library in the college. I hated to read books in the past but now it’s so different. To sum up, in my opinion, I think my college life is colorful because I have attended more activities. For me, it is meaningful to learn much professional knowledge in different fields such as Literature, Linguistics, Methodology of English teaching and Phonetics, especially in English.
